BrainTree and the Theory
of Everything
In Braintree, my intent was to reflect on the myriad of images, information, and experiences I had accumulated through my studies in medicine and encounters with patients. By incorporating patient detail and working with the handicrafts of drawing and stitching, my intent was to transform scientific symbol systems into a kind of personal landscape. The centerpiece of the show included a large-scale drawing of an encoded death registry and an installation of hundreds of handcrafted biomorphic chandeliers.
